History
Heering is a family business founded in 1865. The business is after more than 140 years still familly owned. Reliability, loyalty and excellent service are the key values in our daily operations.
Gerrit Heering (1892)
Heering’s history goes back to 1865; an age when horses pulled carts and carts and barrows were important to the economy. Cartwrights B.J. van ’t Zand made these for the agricultural sector. Gerrit Heering, an employee of van ’t Zand, married the owner’s daughter in 1919. Two years later, he was able to put the family home, the cartwrights business and the smithy in his name, and he changed the name of the company to G. Heering Coachworks. The company was already building bodywork for busses, trucks and delivery vehicles.
Paul Heering (1926)
Gerrit Heering died in 1942. His wife and sons Bernhard and Paul carried on the company as Wid. G. Heering & Sn Coachworks. Together, they steered the company through these difficult years. From 1953, Paul Heering took on sole responsibility for the company under the name Heering Coachworks. In those days, carriage work was still principally on the basis of trusses, whereby a frame of steel or aluminium profiles were covered with various types of sheet material or cloth.
Gerrit Heering (1949)
Paul’s son Gerrit was promoted to the board of management in 1978, and 7 years later became the sole shareholder. The company started the development of transport equipment for day-old chicks. Heering was soon operating as far afield as Europe, Russia and even parts of Africa. New activities were initiated. In 1983, Heering Services established: a company specializing in the installation and service of transport climate systems, especially installations for day-old chick transport.
Patrick Heering (1973)
Patrick, Gerrit’s son, joined the company in 2000. In 2003, a restructuring took place, preparing the company for the future. On 1 January 2004, Patrick took over complete running of the company. This change was also marked by a new name: Heering Transport Technologies, which emphasise the core qualities of the company: The development of transport equipment for day-old chicken on one hand, and (international) specialized services for this equipment on the other.
