PRESENTING OUR NEW SENIOR POULTRY SPECIALIST

We are pleased to inform you about the latest addition to our team. Martijn Nissen MSc recently joined Heering as our new poultry specialist.

In Martijn we found an specialist with both practical and theoretical knowledge in poultry. His fascination for the industry started during his youth while executing various roles on a poultry farm. Later he graduated in multiple poultry-focused studies, among which a Bachelor in Livestock Management and a Master in Animal Science at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He became a qualified animal scientist specialized in adaptation physiology and analytical epidemiology.

In the following professional career he broadened his expertise in climate control in poultry housing. In China he developed and executed a research on heat stress among chickens. China is also one of the countries in which he started his experience as an account manager. A role he also fulfilled in Europe and during the last four years in South-America.

With Martijn, the role as poultry specialist is going to be reshaped to a broader extent. His years of experience in working with international accounts, combined with his practical and theoretical knowledge on poultry, give him a unique point of view in relation to understanding the diverse range of challenges our customers face. Martijn will work closely with our strategic partners such as poultry breeders.

Martijn is pleased to be taking this new step in his career: “Coming from one of the industry leaders in climate control in poultry housing, a global leader in poultry transport felt like the logical next step for me. I’ve always had a great relationship with Gerrit van der Linde and Heering is a company where I can put my knowledge into practice to help optimize poultry transport for companies around the world.”

Patrick Heering, managing director of Heering, is delighted to have Martijn on board: “The in-depth practical knowledge on poultry production management that Martijn has gained throughout the years in Europe, Asia and Latin America is invaluable. Expanding our knowledge-base allows us to assist our worldwide customers to a greater extent.”
